The Pershing Girls won their third straight City Championship last night with a 2-1 win over Catholic in 2OT. It is Pershing’s 7th Girls Championship and the school’s 13th soccer title.
It is the third year in a row and fourth time in the past five years that the Pershing Girls have defeated Catholic for the City Championship.
Emily Cline scored in the first half. Molly Brewer had the game winner in the second overtime.
This group of 8th grade Varsity Girls has only lost one Varsity game in three years at Pershing.
Well done!

The eigth graders will certainly be missed. Pfeifer Brown, Emily Cline, Sydney Ganus, Erica Torgeson and Jacinda Lemons showed dedication and desire to win in their final Pershing Middle School Varsity match. Way to go girls! Winning three varsity championships in three years is a great accomplishment and a golden memory for those girls. I must mention the four sixth graders who also played with passion. Drianna Raff, Bay Brown, Chandler Craven and Sara Kate Sprouse have started their careers at Pershing Middle School as Varsity members winning their first middle school championship. GENERALS ON THREE, 1.2.3, GENERALS P.M.S. WHAT! What a team of winners!
